About the Artist:
As a graduate with an Art degree from the
University of San Jose State, Diana taught art for 6 years in the
Seattle School District. For the last 26 years she owned her own
business, Volare Banners & Design (formerly Highflying Banners),
creating decorative sewn applique banners for shopping centers,
museums, and cities around the world.
Throughout her career, she has won several international and local
awards for her design work as a graphic artist. In addition to her
paintings, she also works with fabrics to produce wearable art. She
has exhibited her wearable and textile art at the prestigious Renwick
Gallery and The Smithsonian Textile Museum both in Washington D.C.
and the Legion of Honor Museum in San Francisco.
Most recently she has exhibited paintings in Olympia, Washington and
most notably at Paul Allen's office at Vulcan Corporation. She also won
the People's Choice Award for her paintings at the Greenwood Art
Walk in 2003. She currently exhibits her artwork at Oasis Art Gallery
in Seattle, Washington. More information at
